We went shopping for a 4-wheel drive vehicle one saturday. We had to decide on a vehicle within a couple weeks. We had stopped in at Waconia a few weeks prior and met Shane, so we decided to work with him. When we got to the dealership, Shane was busy and so Andy started asking what we were interested in. Andy said we needed to test drive a few vehicles first. He went out and lined three vechiles up,letting them all warm up. We took the first one for a drive, came back, jumped in the second and then the third. They trusted us and let us take the vehicles out without any hassel. The driving of the vehicles made a huge difference in what was on top of our wish list. This saved us alot of time. Shane returned and Andy just disappeared and let Shane handle the sales pitch. Shane was a great salesman, he gave us the pitch on the vecicles we were interested in. My husband was intersted in the Cherokee and I was intersted in the Wrangler. Shane spent time talking about both and giving us lots to think about. We left the dealership to think about our options. We were back within a few hours, asking more questions. Shane was great to work with. Once we made our mind up to by the 2012 Jeep Wrangler, then Shane had lots of work to do. We give him a list of "must have in Jeep" and "what color" must be. Shane worked for countless hours trying to fill our want list. He came thru the next day with "I found one!" We were very excited. When we went to pick up the Jeep, we met the service guy who would be servicing my Jeep. I was very pleased to have met him. The actual sale was a pleasant expericence and we were in and out with our new Jeep within a hour. The Jeep is everything and more what we were hoping for. It is fun to pull up to the gas statation and guys will come over and drool all over the Jeep. I gets tons of compliments on the Jeep. I could not be happier. Thanks Waconia Jeep and Shane and Andy! Chrysler Group reported sales up 20 percent, a 16th month of
year-over-year sales gains, led by a 46 percent gain in JeepÃÂ® sales
compared with last July, USA Today said. Jeep was the crown jewel,
with a record month for Wrangler (14,355 sold, up 43 percent) and
gains by all five Jeep brand models, the paper said. The paper said
   it continues to be amazed by gains for the redone all-new 2011 Jeep
   Compass, up 240 percent for the least Jeep-like Jeep. The new Grand
   Cherokee was up 76 percent, the article said. Redone and renamed
   Chrysler 200 midsize sedan was up 111 percent over sales of the
   former Sebring last July, the article said. The new Fiat 500 launch
      also continues to progress, with July sales of 3,038, up 68 percent
      from June, the paper said. "In a market that remains tougher than a
      cheap steak, we were able to produce our highest retail sales in more
      than three years," said Reid Bigland, head of U.S. sales, as well as

      inside. This is much better with good materials, much better fits and

      the company showing faster sales growth than its rivals, but paying

For the first time in more than five years, ChryslerÃÂ¢ÃÂÃÂs U.S. monthly sales total tops that of industry giant Toyota.

Chrysler recorded 114,860 deliveries in May, an 18.9% boost from like-2010, compared with ToyotaÃÂ¢ÃÂÃÂs 108,387 ÃÂ¢ÃÂÃÂ a 27.9% plunge,

according to WardÃÂ¢ÃÂÃÂs data, which is adjusted for selling days.

There were 24 selling days last month, compared with 26 in May 2010.

The last time Chrysler beat Toyota was Feburary 2006, according to WardÃÂ¢ÃÂÃÂs.

ToyotaÃÂ¢ÃÂÃÂs nosedive is linked to inventory woes caused by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami that paralyzed Japan.

The pentastar companyÃÂ¢ÃÂÃÂs jump occurred even though its Dodge car lineup and Chrysler-brand light trucks suffered sales declines of

17.4% and 49.8%, according to WardÃÂ¢ÃÂÃÂs.

But every Jeep nameplate still in production recorded double-digit increases, at minimum. Sales of the upgraded Compass C-segment

cross/utility vehicle soared 108%, a mark exceeded only by the 216.5% surge of the brand-flagship Grand Cherokee.

Jeep sales totaled 35,573 for a 67.9% hike from like-2010.

The Ram fullsize pickup, ChryslerÃÂ¢ÃÂÃÂs volume flagship, did not disappoint. Its sales rose 23.8% for the month.

Chrysler Group sales increase 10% in May
Showing the power of its fresh-ened lineup, Chrysler Group reported its best May sales since 2008, USA Today reported.
The Wall Street Journal said that Chrysler Groupâs U.S. sales rose 10 percent in May on higher truck vol-ume and robust growth at the JeepÂ® brand. It was the 14th con-secutive month Chrysler re-ported overall growth from prior-year levels. So far this year, Chryslerâs sales have climbed 20 percent from the like period a year earlier, the Wall Street Journal said.
Chrysler Groupâs sales in-crease bucked an industry slide last month, CNNMoney reported.
Chrysler Group sales chief Fred Diaz, quoted in a Yahoo! News story, said: âOur retail sales were up 27 percent in May, driven in large part by our new models. Ram pickup trucks and all of our Jeep brand models posted sales increases in May, despite high, fluctuating gas prices."
âChrysler today has the best product mix theyâve had in a long time,â said Truecar.com industry analyst Jesse Toprak,

Chrysler Group is making a comeback, again, according to a column by Paul Ingrassia, deputy editor-in-chief of Reu-ters.
âPeople have been underes-timating (Sergio) Marchionne for years, and it has always been a bad bet,â Ingrassia wrote. The editorial also said that Marchionne, CEO of Chrysler Group and Fiat, has done âeverything rightâ with the two companies so far.

June 1, 2011 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - Chrysler Group LLC today reported U.S. sales of 115,363, a 10 percent increase compared with sales in May 2010 (104,819 units), and the best May sales since 2008.

Chrysler Groupâs all-new or significantly-refreshed 2011 models continue to drive monthly sales gains. The new 2011 Chrysler 200 mid-size sedan, the all-new 2011 Dodge Durango SUV, the all-new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and new Jeep Compass, and the new 2012 Fiat 500 all significantly contributed to Chrysler Groupâs 10 percent sales increase in May.

Sales of the Chrysler 200 were up 154 percent in May, compared to the modelâs previous generation. In May, the Chrysler brand was named âTop Popular Brandâ in AutoPacificâs 15th annual Vehicle Satisfaction Awards, and the new 2011 Chrysler Town & Country took the top spot in the âMinivanâ category. AutoPacificâs Vehicle Satisfaction Award is an industry benchmark for measuring how satisfied an owner is with his or her new vehicle.

All Jeep brand models posted year-over-year sales gains in May, led by the Jeep Grand Cherokeeâs 192 percent sales increase. The Grand Cherokee won AutoPacificâs Vehicle Satisfaction Award in the âPremium Mid-size SUVâ category. Sales of the new Jeep Compass, now with Trail RatedÂ® 4x4 capability, were up 92 percent in May compared with the same month a year ago.

âChrysler Group just posted its 14th consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains, confirmation that our 2011 models continue to resonate with consumers,â said Fred Diaz, President and CEO â Ram Truck Brand and Lead Executive for U.S. Sales. âOur retail sales were up 27 percent in May, driven in large part by our new models. The Jeep and Ram Truck brands each posted year-over-year sales gains in May. The Jeep brandâs 55 percent increase was the largest of the Chrysler Group brands.

Chrysler Group finished the month with a 65-day supply of inventory (311,453 units). U.S. industry sales figures for May are projected at an estimated 12.0 SAAR.

May 2011 U.S. Sales Highlights by Brand

JeepÂ® Brand

The Jeep brand posted a 55 percent sales increase in May. All five Jeep brand models contributed to the increase by posting year-over-year sales gains. The all-new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee posted a 192 percent sales increase in May, compared with the same month in 2010. It was the largest year-over-year sales gain of any Chrysler Group model.

Accolades continue to mount for the Jeep brandâs premium SUV as the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee received the highest spot in vehicle satisfaction for the âPremium Mid-size SUVâ category in AutoPacificâs 15th annual Vehicle Satisfaction Awards. The Grand Cherokee has captured 30 awards since introduction last summer, including the prestigious Wardâs â10 Best Interiorsâ award.

The new Jeep Compass posted a 92 percent sales increase in May versus last year, and is up 12 percent compared with sales during the previous month of April. The new Compass offers the Jeep Freedom Drive IIÂ® Off-Road package. This available four-wheel-drive system delivers Jeep Trail RatedÂ® capability for the first time in Compass form.

The Jeep brand announced in May that four-time Grammy award winning artist Lenny Kravitz will be featured in the national broadcast advertising campaign for the 2011 Jeep Wrangler. Kravitz is a long-time Wrangler owner.

Ram Truck Brand

The Ram Truck brand posted a 13 percent sales increase in May. Ram pickup truck sales were up 16 percent, compared with the same month in 2010. Both the Light Duty and Heavy Duty pickup trucks, along with the Chassis Cab, saw year-over-year sales gains. This was the brandâs 13th consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains.

In May, the Ram Truck brand introduced the Ram âLong-Haulerâ Concept Truck, a vehicle designed for hauling, range and comfort. On display at select events across the country, the Ram Long-Hauler is based on a Class 5 Ram 5500 Chassis Cab, and is designed to tow multiple or heavy trailers and drive long distances. Designers upped the range between refueling stops with a mid-ship fuel tank. Combined with a second frame-mounted tank and a third, optional, bed-mounted auxiliary tank, total fuel capacity is 170 gallons.

Also in May, Chrysler Group, working in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy, delivered the first of a demonstration fleet of Ram 1500 plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) pickup trucks to municipal officials in Yuma, Ariz. The 10 PHEV Ram 1500 pickups are part of a national demonstration fleet of 140 vehicles that will be used during the next three years to evaluate customer usage, drive cycles, charging, thermal management, fuel economy, emissions and impact on the regionâs electric grid.

Dodge Brand

Sales of the 2011 Dodge Nitro mid-size sport utility continued its string of year-over-year sales gains with a 7 percent increase compared with May a year ago. The Dodge Caravan was the brandâs volume leader in May. Sales of the minivan were up 7 percent compared with sales in the previous month of April 2011.

The totally revamped 2011 Dodge Journey was the proud winner of the 2011 âFamily Car of Texasâ in May. The Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) bestowed the honor after more than 50 journalists had the chance to get behind the wheel and drive the Journey at the groupâs annual Spring Roundup at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth. The Journey received a major overhaul with a completely redesigned and retuned suspension, the new 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine that delivers 283 hp and 260 lb.-ft. of torque, along with excellent fuel economy of up to 25 miles per gallon on the highway, and a gorgeous new interior.

bad-boy is so big you could take a whole cow in the back to market

Class 5 Ram 5500 Chassis Cab, the interior was spruced up using

seat passengers and a rear center console that includes a

months “to gauge public opinion” for a possible production version,

Dodge makes a good thing better; Grand Caravan packs on value,

specific industries, and the largest number of individual companies
in a dozen years, according to 2011 Harris Interactive RQ Study,
which measures the reputations of the 60 most visible companies in
the U.S. The auto industry had a significant increase in positive
perceptions, jumping 15 points from 2010, the largest year over year

o The 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie 4x4 Crew Cab is like a Clydesdale
horse in a Savile Row suit, the Toronto Star said. Hoist yourself

forgiven for thinking Lexus has gotten into the pickup business, the
Star said. "I'd call this the nicest truck interior of the Big
Three," the Star's reviewer said. On the road, the civility of this

The standard Jeep Quadra-Trac active on-demand four-wheel-drive transfer case uses input from a variety of sensors in order to determine tire slip at the earliest possible moment and take corrective action. The system uses Throttle Anticipate to sense quick movement in the throttle from a stop and maximizes traction before slippage occurs. When tire slippage is detected, the Jeep 4x4 system can transfer up to 100 percent of available torque to one rear wheel. Tooele, Utah , Apr 14, 2011 - The Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR (American Club
Racer) has made history at yet another storied road course.

Renowned Dodge road racer Kuno Wittmer piloted a street legal 2010 Dodge Viper ACR to a record lap of 1:59.995 at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah, on Monday, April 11, breaking the 2-minute mark for the first time in a production car on the 3.048-mile Outer Course configuration. The Viper ACR shattered the previous production car lap record of 2:03.86, held by Jan Magnussen in a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 by close to 4 full seconds.

“It’s amazing to come to this world-class track and shatter the production car lap record by almost 4 seconds,” said Bryan Viger, Head of Dodge Motorsports. “We brought our street-legal Viper ACR to see what Kuno could do behind the wheel, and on his second lap he’d already gone faster than the single lap record.”

A veteran behind the wheel of the Viper on and off the track, Wittmer continues to be impressed by the performance of the Dodge Viper ACR. “Wow, what an awesome supercar!” the Montreal native said after exiting the car. “The Viper ACR is such a blast to drive at the limit, and I can honestly say that I didn’t leave an inch out there on the track and was barely braking in the corners.”

This latest achievement joins a growing list of track records for the Dodge Viper ACR. In November 2009, SRT vehicle dynamics engineer Chris Winkler lapped the 2.238-mile, Laguna Seca raceway in 1:33.92, beating the previous record by 1.1 seconds. Dutch driver Tom Coronel set a 7:22.1 production car record at the 12.9-mile Nurburgring Nordschleife in August 2008.

The Dodge Viper ACR remains the ultimate purpose-built, street-legal track car since its introduction in 2008.

Powered by the venerable 8.4-liter, V-10 engine with 600 horsepower and 560 lb.-ft. of torque, the Dodge Viper ACR continues to offer extreme performance, including 0-60 mph acceleration in less than 4 seconds, quarter-mile time in the mid 11-second range and 0-100-0 mph in 11 seconds flat.

The four-wheel independent suspension features high-performance aluminum control arms and knuckles, KW suspension with two-way adjustable competition coil-over shock absorbers with remote reservoirs.

The aerodynamic package features a carbon fiber “fanged” splitter in front and adjustable carbon-fiber wing with seven-position stanchions that allow up to an amazing 1,000 lbs. of downforce at 150 mph. Lightweight wheels, two-piece slotted StopTech brake rotors and Michelin PS Cup tires round out the ACR package.

For the 2010 model year, the Dodge Viper ACR received a shorter fifth gear ratio (changing from 0.74 to 0.80) for improved high-speed acceleration and higher straightaway speeds. A new short-throw shifter also came in 2010 models for enhanced driver experience and better performance. The rear wing profile and end plates were also redesigned to further optimize the vehicle aerodynamics and improve rear yaw downforce. These changes resulted in an increase in top speed of 4 mph (to 184 mph).

Chrysler Group’s Mopar division announced a strategic agreement with

Magneti Marelli and Shell Lubricants that will give its dealership network

the ability to fully service competitive vehicles.

“After introducing a number of initiatives to improve service for our

customers, including brand-specific customer-care lines, extended service

hours during weekdays and weekends and a push for Mopar Express Lanes,

taking care of owners with competitive vehicles is the next frontier,” said

The agreement with Magneti Marelli and Shell Lubricants is the latest

example of how Chrysler Group, through its Mopar division, is aggressively

moving to further improve customer service and convenience while growing

its service business.

Currently 72 percent of Chrysler Group’s 2,311 dealers now offer Saturday

service hours. Mopar is planning to improve this number to 80 percent by

the end of this year. Dealers who have made the move to Saturday service

hours have increased their overall service business by 20 percent.

To support the move to Saturday-service hours, Mopar has extended its

technical-support dealer call- center hours to 16 hours Monday through

Friday (8 a.m. to midnight) and now Saturday as well (9 a.m. – 6 p.m.).

Beginning in January of this year, Mopar started providing Saturday service

at its parts distribution centers. For customers, Mopar established

extended hours for the company’s brand-specific customer-care telephone

lines from just weekdays (8 a.m. to 8 p.m.) to Saturdays as well (9 a.m. to

5 p.m. Eastern). In addition, the company announced today that it will now

offer Sunday customer service from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern, with the

exception of national holidays.

Regarding Mopar Express Lane service, currently 600 dealers, or 26 percent

of the Chrysler Group dealer network, now offer express service. Mopar is

planning to improve this number to 80 percent by the end of 2014. Dealers

who add Mopar Express Lane service to their dealerships average a

50-percent increase in their retail service business within the first six

months and double their oil-change business in the first year.

“It’s important to note that competitive vehicles currently make up 25

percent of Mopar Express Lane traffic,” said Gorlier. “Our new relationship

with Magneti Marelli and Shell Lubricants will allow us to further serve

this growing market. Our dealerships will become full-line retail service

and tire centers.”

Chrysler Group LLC released images today of the new 2011 Jeep® Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited. Jeep continues to refine the successful Wrangler formula by combining its legendary, benchmark capability with an all-new interior that delivers rich styling with significantly upgraded touch surfaces, occupant comfort and versatility, and a premium appearance courtesy of an all-new body-color hard top for the popular Sahara model.
"The iconic Jeep Wrangler keeps getting better," said Mike Manley, President and CEO - Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. "While retaining unmatched, legendary capability, the 2011 Jeep Wrangler boasts an all-new interior that delivers a host of comfort, convenience and versatility features. In addition, Sahara models now feature a stunning, all-new body-color hard top, for customers looking for a Jeep Wrangler with a more premium appearance."
New 2011 Jeep Wrangler interior highlights include a redesigned instrument panel and new storage areas with improved ergonomics and upgraded materials. A new lockable console and upgraded door armrest areas boast comfortable touch points, while a redesigned center stack is easier to reach and operate. Heated, power mirrors are now available, and drivers and passengers will enjoy enhanced visibility courtesy of larger rear windows.
All-new steering-wheel controls allow the driver to operate the radio, cruise control, hands-free phone and other vehicle functions while keeping hands on the wheel. A new USB device interface connects to storage devices (thumb drives and most MP3 players) for use with the vehicle’s Media Center, which now includes streaming Bluetooth audio. Twelve-volt accessory outlets have been added and a new 110-volt outlet is available to provide power similar to AC outlets in the home.
In line with traditional Jeep design, hex-head bolts are utilized throughout the interior, and are used to mount a “Jeep, Since 1941” inlay onto the new passenger grab handle.
Jeep engineers increased acoustical treatment in the 2011 Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited, resulting in significantly reduced interior noise.
To provide a more premium appearance, the 2011 Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited Sahara models boast an all-new, premium, body-color hard top.
Several new Jeep Wrangler colors are available for 2011, including Detonator Yellow, Deep Cherry Red, Sahara Tan, Cosmos Blue and Bright White.

I realize you're busy between cigarettes trying to save America's third largest carmaker, but we haven't been introduced, and I've been meaning to drop you a note.
A few weeks ago, I got the chance to test drive the new 2010 Ram 2500 Laramie, loaded up with that mega-powerful 6.7-liter Cummins diesel and just about every creature comfort known to the pickup world.
Now, I realize it's been a tough year for Chrysler Group LLC, what with the bankruptcy, a slight sales drop, Michael Jackson's death and more name changes than the man formerly known as Prince -- who is now Prince -- has endured. Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep aside, not everything needs an overhaul.

The all-new heavy-duty Ram, formerly known as Dodge Ram, doesn't need a single bolt screwed with. Just sit back and take the credit.
These trucks make up the best group of heavy-duty pickups ever produced by Chrysler, which took all of the great things about the 2009 Ram 1500 and applied them to the big rigs to make them better.
While much of the company may feel like it is in shambles, Ram's tank is full. (And please, kibosh that commercial. Whenever I hear it on the radio, I have to pull over at the next rest stop.)
Honestly, (and this is just between you and me), the Ram 2500 is an absolute thrill ride. The diesel engine booms with more authority than a Downriver cop, and it's more comfortable than a Bloomfield Hills living room. It is Cass Corridor gritty and Royal Oak refined. Welcome it to the neighborhood.

Company vehicles first to get live mobile TV

Starting in late December, Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge Car and Ram Truck owners may watch many of their favorite TV programs with a dealer-installed mobile TV option from Mopar®.
Chrysler Group LLC will be the first automaker in the United States to offer live mobile TV to consumers with the capacity for as many as 20 channels through FLO TV auto entertainment. The system offers something for everyone: college and professional sports, breaking news, children’s shows, primetime sitcoms, reality TV and daytime dramas.
Mopar will showcase FLO TV auto entertainment at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas next week.
“We want to offer our customers the ultimate in entertainment,” Pietro Gorlier, President and Chief Executive Officer, Mopar Service, Parts and Customer Care, said. “With FLO TV Auto Entertainment, we are the first automaker to offer mobile TV with the capacity for as many as 20 channels.”
Until now, the challenge for mobile TV has been to deliver high-quality, uninterrupted coverage in urban environments and at highway speeds. Existing mobile TV systems in the United States either offer limited channels or require large satellite dishes on vehicle roofs—and a large price tag to match.
Mopar’s suggested retail price is $629, plus installation. A one-year prepaid FLO TV service subscription is included with installation.
The entertainment package will be available as a dealer-installed option on the following 2008-2010 model year vehicles with factory DVD entertainment systems: Chrysler Town & Country, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Commander, Dodge Grand Caravan, Dodge Journey, Dodge Nitro, Ram 1500 and Ram 2500/3500.
The service also can be added to select 2008-2010 model-year vehicles when new Mopar headrest or seat-top DVD entertainment systems are purchased.
How it works
Television signals are delivered through a dedicated multicast network built by San Diego-based FLO TV Inc., a live mobile TV service provider, and a wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm Inc. FLO TV offers live and time-shifted programming from top entertainment brands, including CBS Mobile, CNBC, Comedy Central, Fox News, MSNBC, MTV, NBC 2Go and Nickelodeon.
Up to 20 channels will be available in late December when the feature is available for dealer installation. By the end of 2009, the FLO TV service should be available in more than 100 major markets and many interstate driving corridors. The FLO TV service is not available in some rural areas.
Audiovox Corp., of Hauppauge, N.Y., supplies FLO TV Auto Entertainment hardware that integrates with Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge Car and Ram Truck vehicles’ existing entertainment systems and new Mopar 7-inch DVD screen systems. A small antenna, similar in size to a laptop mouse, is mounted on a vehicle’s roof to deliver the digital TV signal. Inside the vehicle, the receiver and wiring are installed under the interior trim of the vehicle and are not visible to occupants.
User-friendly wired and wireless remote controls allow viewers to easily surf channels, similar to TV systems at home.
Mopar’s FLO TV™ Auto Entertainment option includes a three-year/36,000-mile warranty on new vehicles or a 12-month/12,000-mile warranty on used vehicles for hardware and installation.
